SUMMARY
OF THE FIRST YEARS EVENT
Late in the summer of 2008, a group of trials enthusiasts came together
with the aim of providing training for local youth riders. Having witnessed the standard of riding throughout the UK and
wider abroad, the team, ably led by Jonny Hagan, decided on a strategy
of training and coaching aimed exclusively at young riders. The long-term objective was to ‘raise the game’ in
Ireland as those youngsters graduated to the adult ranks. A number of coaching events would be spread over the course of
the season, with a fun event during the summer, where the students could
display their newly acquired skills. ..more

With the
sixth and final training event now over in the first year for the John
Hagan Youth Trials Academy committee can be very satisfied with the

lessons learnt, the Academy can be satisfied with the format and
with the progress made by the students involved in this inaugural year.

afterwards, Apologies for the delay as we have experienced writer’s
block!! We do try and involve everyone in the event, but sometimes, the
forgotten hero’s are undoubtedly the mums,

After listening to the
feedback from our parents and giving the standard of the previous 3
training academy sessions, training session number 4 at Bertie Moore’s
could only be described as “The best yet”.
It was an overall combination of location; coaches (including our
new coaching additions), weather and the revised agenda that helped
create a terrific atmosphere around the whole day. ......more |
